Erick and Betsy... My First Wedding!

This past weekend I got the chance to be second shooter at Erick and Betsy's Wedding. It was a ton of fun! The couple and families involved in the wedding were great and extremely nice. Thanks guys! I was a little worried about how I would feel about shooting a wedding, but it was really quite a bit of fun. It probably helped that I was taking photos of great people.

It was an outdoor wedding, which I think makes for great pictures. The weather was wonderful (a little too wonderful on account of the sun), so we had to fight that a little bit. Oh, and the food was great too. Thanks for feeding us!

So here are some random shots that I took throughout the day. I like so many other images as well, but I feel like I am putting up too many images for one post as it is. Hope you like them!

Little League Softball

After graduating from the Hallmark Institute of Photography, I have started shooting some pretty big-time sporting events. Here is one of the major league games that I was lucky enough to get into :)

Yesterday my niece had a softball game up at the park. I decided to go up and watch, and if I am going to do that, of course I am taking my camera. Here are a few of the shots that I thought were kinda cute/funny. Not a whole lot of action to capture at these games.... It was still fun though.

I really got a kick out of the first shot, just how she was standing right on top of 1st base.

Morning Walk

I am finally feeling almost back to normal. I had been sick since, well a while, but with just kind of a mild cold or something. But then Sunday it started to hit me hard (cold, allergies, ear infection, and possible detoxification from moving out of the decrepit house I had been living in back in Mass); it could have been any of those plus a few others, I don't know exactly. Monday and Tuesday I couldn't do much at all, and ended up sleeping the majority of the time. So this morning, of course I was wide awake (and starving) at like 4:30am. I decided to go out and see if I could get any wildlife shots. I walked through the field in route to the woods, and it didn't take long before I was soaked from the dew. That I could deal with, it was actually kind of refreshing, but then as I approached the woods, the bugs attacked! I fought hard, and there were many casualties, but I finally retreated, and did not enter the woods.

So... I didn't get the shots that I had imagined I might, but I got a few that gave me some satisfaction. Next time I will consider bug spray.

Sunrise over an Ohio field. Such a peaceful time of day. I like it best when I hear no man-made noises.

Matt and Rebekah

Matt and Rebekah came over the other day to visit. While we enjoyed the amazing weather outside, I snapped a few shots of them. I am glad that I get to see them a lot now that I am home. I think it is going to be a fun summer!

Hallmark Graduation

Tomorrow is graduation! I can't believe it is here already. I have a bittersweet feeling about the whole thing. I am so ready to get started with my photography career, but I am going to miss everyone at Hallmark (both fellow students and instructors). I have really started to get to know people and have a lot of fun. I am really hoping that I will be able to keep in touch with everyone, and I plan to.
The past few days have been good. My parents got here Tuesday night, and Wednesday we went into Boston. We checked out the historic sites of the city. It was a fun, and tiring day. Today we spent most of the day packing up my stuff. I don't know how I accumulated so many things.
Though I will miss all of my Hallmark friends.... I am excited to get home and do some sweet photography!

My advertisement for the final...... Barrel of Monkeys!

I Passed!

Well, my section's reviews were Tuesday and Wednesday. After sitting through almost my entire section, I finally was called up, second to last! I would go at the end.... Anyway, it was worth the wait, and they accepted my portfolio. I was pretty confident, but you can never be sure.

They seemed to like most of my portrait work, and were glad that I am wanting to take my photography in that direction. So I am glad about that. I definitely don't want to totally abandon table-top stuff. It isn't as strong as my portrait work, and I would like to keep pushing myself and improving in that area.

(following is a random shot for one of my assignments that really has nothing much to do with this post)

Graduation is on the 19th, and then the plan is to try to hurry home so I can attend some weddings on the following day. I am excited to get home and have a fun , and hopefully busy, summer. And I am really excited to start doing some photography work back in NW Ohio. I really want to do some fun things photography wise, and bring a little more fun to portraiture in the area.

This Past Week, and Random Flower Shots

The past week here was a pretty good one. The weather has been great. Yesterday I went to Puffers Pond by Amherst and hung out on the beach for a while. After that, I joined some friends for a cookout at Unity Park.

Tuesday, a couple of us went into Boston. We spent most of the time on Newbury Street. I also walked down to Fenway Park, which I had never been before. We ate at Fire and Ice Grill, which was really good. One of those places that you fill up and bowl with whatever, and they grill it and then bring it to you. Later we had pizza at a different place, but I can't remember what it was called. It was real good though.

So I was looking through some of the pictures that I have taken recently, and I don't know why, but there were a ton of flower shots. Since there are so many, and I don't know what else to do with them, I figured I would post them on here. So here are some random flower images that I have taken recently.

Some kind of orange flower that I was amongst some grass at Puffers Pond. I don't know what it is.... so let me know if you do.

Some irises that were in one of the yards in the neighborhood. Saw them when I was walking around one morning. I have noticed a ton of people with these.
A poppy in Old Deerfield, on the campus of Deerfield Academy, and some flowers along the road in a meadow near the Montague Mill.

Someone's front yard in Montague.

My review is coming up this week. Either Tuesday or Wednesday. Finally!!
